Class Action Accuses Verizon |Of Dirty Deals In BlackBerries

SAN DIEGO (CN) - Verizon Wireless defrauded customers by selling them BlackBerry 8830 Smartphones and misrepresenting them as having built-in, functional GPS systems, a class-action complaint claims in Federal Court.

In fact, Verizon and co-defendant Cellco Partnership disabled the GPS system, then charged plaintiffs $240 to partially restore only some of the functions they had disabled, the suit claims. See complaint.
