MANHATTAN (CN) - Emigrant Bank disclosed the private email addresses of account holders to spammers, who sent illicit commercial email that could indicate a "systematic security breach" by the bank, a class action claims in Federal Court.
Plaintiffs say the bank disclosed email addresses of customers of EmigrantDirect, an online money-market deposit and management system. "Emigrant's disclosure of these email addresses is tortious and may indicate a systematic security breach by the company," the complaint states.
Represented by Jennifer Feldscher with KamberEdelson, the plaintiffs seek equitable relief, accounting, damages and an injunction.
