Nacogdoches County unconstitutionally imprisons foreign-born people through its "immigration hold" policy, a class action claims in Lufkin, Texas, Federal Court. The named plaintiff says he was jailed for 6 days after paying $270 bond for a Class C misdemeanor punishable only by a fine.

Seven inmates have filed pro se class action complaints against Corrections Corporation of America, alleging overcrowding, violence, inadequate medical care and other constitutional violations at its Winn Correctional Center in Winnfield, La., in Alexandria, La., Federal Court.
