ST. LOUIS (CN) - A former city court worker was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended, for forging signatures of judges and lawyers on fake court orders and selling them to people to get their towed vehicles out of the city lot for free.
Shreela Bolden, 33, will have her sentence suspended so long as she stays out of trouble, but the conviction will stay on her record, according to the sentence from St. Louis Circuit Court Judge Robin Vannoy.
Prosecutors asked for 120 days of jail shock time followed by 5 years of probation.
Bolden admitted she forged the signatures and sold them. The scam was discovered in 2010 while Bolden was a clerical worker in the city license collector's office. Before that, she worked for 2½ years for the St. Louis City Circuit Clerk.
