City Sues Oklahoma Over Water Sales

MUSKOGEE, OKLA. (CN) - The State of Oklahoma unconstitutionally prohibits its cities from selling surface water outside of the state, the City of Hugo claims in Federal Court. Hugo says it signed a contract on Aug. 7 to deliver water to Irving, Texas, and that the state's prohibition on such sales violates the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.
