Cigarette Ordinance

The town of Barrington, Rhode Island, lacked the authority to enact an ordinance prohibiting the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products to people under the age of 21 because the regulation of tobacco is a “matter of statewide concern,” the state’s Supreme Court ruled.
