CIA’s Ex-No. 3 Man Pleads Guilty To Fraud

SAN DIEGO (CN) - Former CIA Executive Director Kyle "Dusty" Foggo today pleaded guilty to defrauding the United States of honest services, in a case linked to the bribery case that sent Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham to prison.

Foggo admitted he abused his post to give CIA contracts to his best friend Brent Wilkes, who is serving a 12-year sentence for bribing Cunningham.

Foggo, 53, of Vienna, Va., who was No. 3 man in the CIA, admitted he allowed Wilkes to conceal their relationships by using straw men and shell companies to get CIA contracts. Foggo and Wilkes were indicted together on federal charges in February 2007. After Wilkes was sentenced, the feds chose to continue prosecuting Foggo in Alexandria, Va.

Foggo faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine at his Jan. 8 sentencing in Alexandria.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in San Diego announced the plea in a press release.
