The Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., is likely to succeed on its claims that the district’s Covid-19-related restrictions that prevent it from holding socially-distanced outdoor worship services for more than 100 people substantially burdens its free exercise of religion, a federal court ruled. The church won an injunction allowing it to hold services outdoors for its 850 members.

WASHINGTON — The Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., is likely to succeed on its claims that the district’s Covid-19-related restrictions that prevent it from holding socially-distanced outdoor worship services for more than 100 people substantially burdens its free exercise of religion, a federal court ruled. The church won an injunction allowing it to hold services outdoors for its 850 members.
