(CN) - A capo in a Chinese mafia group was sentenced on Monday to 35 years in prison for participating in the murder of two people in Toronto in July 1994. Bing Yi Chen aka Ah Ngai was convicted of murder in connection with heroin trafficking. His boss, Frank Ma, pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Bing agreed to kill his drug-dealing partner as a favor to his heroin supplier in Hong Kong, prosecutors said. The hit team shot their way into an office and killed two men, neither of whom was the intended victim and neither of whom was involved with drugs, prosecutors said.
