Chief Judge Sues Cook County Court

CHICAGO (CN) - Cook County Circuit Court violated the Illinois Constitution by illegally taxing people for access to courts; by misusing the fees it collects from litigants; by using the money to create and maintain the Court Automation Fund, an automated record-keeping system; by illegally keeping 9% of the money it collects this way; and by blaming its chief judge for failing to object to all this, says the Circuit Court's Chief Judge Timothy Evansin a suit filed in hiscourt.
