Charlie Sheen Starred in Dental Fright Fest

(CN) — Charlie Sheen assaulted a dental assistant who was trying to prepare him for a tooth extraction and then tried to stab two dentists in 2014, the dentists claim in court.

Naming the actor by his birth name, Carlos Irwin Estevez, dentists George Bogen and Jaime Azdair and their receptionist, Tina Devilla, filed suit Tuesday against Sheen in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The dentists claim that Sheen, his bodyguard and personal assistant went to their office on Sept. 25, 2014, so Sheen could have a tooth pulled.

Sheen, 50, is an award-winning actor who surprised Hollywood in November 2015 when he revealed he is HIV positive and was diagnosed in 2011.

Sheen has a reputation as an alcohol and drug abuser and philanderer.

The dentists claim in the lawsuit that as their assistant tried to fit Sheen with a nitrous oxide mask, he jumped up and cussed her out.

"When the dental assistant again placed the nitrous oxide mask over defendant Sheen's face, defendant Sheen again acted out without warning or provocation, and physically assaulted and battered the dental assistant, who ran screaming into the reception area where plaintiff Devilla was sitting," the complaint states.

The assistant is not a plaintiff in the lawsuit.

The dentists say Sheen pulled out a knife and lunged at them "attempting to stab and kill them, and repeatedly stabbing the examination chair in a menacing manner" as their shocked staff looked on.

They seek punitive damages for assault, and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress. They say they feared for their lives.

They are represented by William Moore in Beverly Hills.

Molise PR, a Chicago public relations firm that represents Sheen, did not immediately respond Wednesday morning to a phone message seeking comment.
