Certain Medicare Conditions to Be Tossed

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services plan to make rule changes "to increase the ability of health care professionals to devote resources to improving patient care," and "reduce procedural burdens on providers."

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service have published proposed rules getting rid of regulations the CMS have identified as "unnecessary, obsolete, or excessively burdensome on health care providers and beneficiaries," so the rules are not in the way of health care professionals providing quality care, according to CMS.

Other proposed rules would revise the requirements that hospitals and critical access hospitals must meet to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, to reduce procedural burdens on providers, according to CMS.
