RIVERSIDE, CALIF. (CN) - Riverside Cement Holdings and TXI Riverside poisoned the air and water in Rubidoux with hexavalent chromium, injuring hundreds and killing some, more than 100 people claim in Superior Court.
Much of the allegedly deadly material came from 80-tons piles of "clinker," pebbles stored in the open air before being ground up and mixed into cement to create the final product. The clinker, stored in dry piles, allegedly contaminated the air on windy days.
Plaintiffs' lead counsel is Girardi & Keese of Los Angeles.
