Cell-Phone Class Sues AT&T Mobility

LOS ANGELES (CN) - AT&T Mobility illegally charges cell-phone customers 99 cents for each "short messaging service" call they make to participate in "illegal lotteries" sponsored by call-in TV shows, a class-action complaint claims in Federal Court. Plaintiffs also claim AT&T gathered "valuable consumer information" for "marketing and promotional schemes" by cooperating with the lotteries.
