Celebrity Booker Claims Redskin Defamed Her

WASHINGTON (CN) - Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis defamed a woman by calling her a "pimpette" after a previous lawsuit in which she accused him of throwing a bottle at her, the woman claims in a new complaint.

Makini R. Chaka and her company Remy Enterprise Group sued Frederick Davis in Federal Court.

Davis was drafted in the second round in 2008. The NFL suspended him without pay for four games in December 2011 for failing drug tests, according to The Washington Post.

Chaka's company organizes parties for sports and entertainment stars, and celebrity appearances, mostly at nightclubs in Washington, D.C. Remy arranges security for the celebrities and photo sessions with fans, according to the complaint.

Chaka, of Baltimore, claims Davis assaulted her in January 2011. She claims she got a temporary restraining order against him, after which Davis and his bodyguard (nonparty) Stewart Prince smeared her.

"In January 2011, Davis threw a bottle at Chaka, hitting her in the face and causing physical injuries," the complaint states.

"Chaka filed a lawsuit against Davis, alleging Davis assaulted her and requesting a restraining order. The DC Superior Court issued a preliminary injunction.

"In 2012, Davis and Prince repeatedly told third parties that Chaka is a 'madam' and 'pimpette' who procures prostitutes for professional athletes."

Chaka claims Davis repeated the false statements to her clients, prospective clients and the media, harming her reputation and business.

Most media outlets withdrew the statements, at Chaka's request, but some continued to publish them, according to the complaint.

"Davis, Prince, and one or more John Does also made public false imputations about Chaka, insinuating, among other things, that she is violent, dishonest, and/or an extortionist," the complaint adds.

Chaka claims she lost clients and more than half of her income due to Davis' defamation.

She seeks compensatory and punitive damages for defamation, invasion of privacy, interference with contract and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
