Cavalcade of Corruption Continues in New York

MANHATTAN (CN) – The former chief operating officer of NYC-TV admitted he stole more than $60,000 from New York City, which partly funds the station. Trevor Scotland admitted he ordered checks for ad production work to be sent to VRT Multimedia instead of to NYC-TV, and VRT kicked back 80 percent of the money to him.

Scotland pleaded guilty Wednesday to a one-count federal information accusing him of conspiring to commit wire fraud. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
Vincent R. Taylor, who owns VRT, faces a similar indictment. He has a Nov. 2 hearing scheduled in Federal Court, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
