Car Maker Gets $34.9M Break in Damage Award

JACKSON, Tenn. (CN) - The Tennessee Court of Appeals refused to let DaimlerChrysler Corp. off the hook for engineering errors in its Dodge Caravans. However, the court slashed a punitive damage award from $48.7 million to $13.8 million, because the car company's conduct did not rise to a "high level of reprehensibility."
