Car chase shooting

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — An Alabama federal judge allows an estate’s excessive force, wrongful death and assault claims to proceed against a police officer and the city of Birmingham. Police allegedly shot and killed a motorist who sped away from police and engaging in a 20-minute chase, but the deceased may have been shot while incapacitated after the collision that ended the chase.
