Candidate Sues State For Changing Rules

SANTA FE, N.M. (CN) - Don Wiviott, who seeks Democratic Party nomination to represent the 3rd Congressional District, claims the State of New Mexico illegally dropped its criteria whereby he can qualify for the ballot with signatures from 4 percent of party voters in the district from the previous election, but demands he get 20 percent of party delegates in the district who vote at the pre-primary convention on March 15. See his state court complaint.
