Candidacy challenge

WILMINGTON, N.C. — A federal court in North Carolina granted a preliminary injunction to Congressman Madison Cawthorn in his suit challenging an attempt to disqualify him from seeking reelection. The candidacy challenge is based on claims Cawthorn participated in “insurrection or rebellion” against the United States. The court ruled Cawthorn is likely to succeed on the merits of his case.
