Cancer-Causing Snacks

The Center for Environmental Health filed a pair of lawsuits against the makers and sellers of potato snacks and foods, claiming they don’t warn consumers that the products contain acrylamide, a carcinogen under California’s Proposition 65.

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Center for Environmental Health filed a pair of lawsuits against the makers and sellers of potato snacks and foods, claiming they don’t warn consumers that the products contain acrylamide, a carcinogen under California’s Proposition 65.

The defendants in one lawsuit include: ConAgra Foods; Basic American; JR Simplot; Kroger; Ralph’s; Safeway; Save Mart; Target; Wal-Mart; Whole Foods; and Mrs. Gooch’s Natural Foods Market.

The defendants in the other lawsuit include: Snikkidy; Bristol Farms; Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips; One Potato Snacks; French’s; Gelson’s Markets; Good Health Natural Products; Inventure Foods; Kroger; Ralph’s; Safeway; Save Mart; Sunflower Farmers Markets; Utz Quality Foods; and Wal-Mart.
