Canadian Demands Info On Afghani Prisoners

VANCOUVER, B.C. (CN) - Businessman and political gadfly Neil Kitson demand the Minister of National Defence respond to his Access to Information Act request for "the number of prisoners taken by Canadian Forces in Afghanistan during Operation Medusa, September 2006; the physical location of those prisoners ... and the location of physical or other records concerning those prisoners."

Kitson claims the Canadian government illegally refuses to release the information on the spurious grounds that "release of the information requested could reasonably be expected to be injurious to the defence of Canada or its allies."
