SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - "Mis-leveled concrete" at the San Francisco office of the State Bar of California made a woman fall and injure her neck, she claims in Superior Court.
Beth Jay sued the State Bar of California, claiming she also hurt her shoulder and arm in the Dec. 3, 2010 slip and fall.
Jay claims she was there for a meeting and tripped and fell at the entrance, suffering "significant neck, left shoulder and left arm pain and injuries including, but not limited to, nerve impingements."
Jay claims the Bar knew about the hazard.
"Plaintiff was assisted into the lobby by employees of the State Bar of California, who informed plaintiff that they had been having a lot [of] issues with the mis-leveled concrete," the complaint states.
Jay adds: "The risk was not trivial.
"The condition had existed for long enough before plaintiff's incident and was so obvious that The State Bar of California should have discovered the condition and known it was dangerous."
She seeks damages for injuries, lost wages, lost earning capacity and medical expenses.
