California sues landlord over 'uninhabitable units'

LOS ANGELES — California is suing a group of property management companies owned by.notorious Southern California landlord and his family, accusing them of renting out properties in "inhumane conditions" and discriminating against low-income tenants. The defendants own more than 22,000 housing units across the state and subject tenants to pest infestations, overflowing sewage, damp walls that sprout mushrooms and other unsanitary conditions, according to the state.
