VISTA, CALIF. (CN) - In a "classic bait and switch," two men charged $3,995 for a three-day "boot camp" on how to make money buying and selling distressed property, then said on day two that the boot campers would have to pay another $1,995 to learn the secrets, one attendee claims in Superior Court.
Jeannette Johnson sued Jason Gilbert, Terry Hale, CRE Publishing and CRE Riches$.
Johnson says the defendants, whose residences are not specified but who allegedly operate in San Diego County, claimed they would teach her how to "birddog."
"Birddogging was described as an aspect of commercial real estate wherein commercial deals could be found and referral fees could be earned. Defendant represented that an individual had to go through their boot came to be eligible to submit deals to them and that Defendant would demonstrate how to find deals and how to properly complete the paperwork to submit deals to them," the complaint states.
