LOS ANGELES (CN) - The creators of the "Got Milk?" campaign want a design company enjoined from selling "Got Milf?" T-shirts. The California Milk Processor Board says the knockoff designs and logos are "immoral or scandalous."
Defendants James Farinaro and Deez Designs advertise their knockoffs on their Web site as "Sexy girly tee for you hot moms out there. Mom I'd like to ..."
The Milk Board and the Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture say Farinaro is violating their trademark. In its federal complaint, the state claims the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has refused to register the "Got Milf?" trademark because it consists of "immoral or scandalous matter."
The design company uses the same font and letter design as the original "Got Milk?" logo, the state says.
According to the federal complaint: "Plaintiff is informed and believes, and thereon alleges, that the term 'milf' is an acronym for 'mother I'd like to fuck' and is commonly associated with pornography."
The board wants all the offending products destroyed, court costs, and all of the defendants' profits from the offending items.
