Bullying Tragedy

A federal court in Ohio ruled in favor of a board of education in a dispute brought by the parents of an 11-year-old girl who died by suicide after years of bullying.

DAYTON, Ohio – A federal court in Ohio ruled in favor of a board of education in a dispute brought by the parents of an 11-year-old girl who killed herself after years of bullying.

Although the girl was forced to sit at the same science table as a student who bullied her, this happened a month before her death and is not an act that meets the standard required to bring a due process claim against the school.
