KANSAS CITY, KAN. (CN) - St. John's Military School in Salina allows a clique of students known as the "Battalion Staff" to brutalize other kids by beating them repeatedly, whipping them with "socks filled with padlocks," and "brand(ed)" one boy with a bronze star while others held him down, the parents of two boys claim in Federal Court. St. John's, which charges $18,000 tuition, appoints the sadistic crew, overlooks the abuses, and claims the victims mutilated themselves, the parents say. See complaint.
