LOS ANGELES (CN) - Two brothers were sentenced to life in federal prison for racketeering, including using violence to deter victims from cooperating with police.
Rafael "Cisco" Munoz Gonzalez, 42, was sentenced Wednesday.
A member of the Mexican Mafia prison gang, he also controlled the Puente-13 street gang, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a statement announcing his sentence.
His brother, Cesar "Blanco" Munoz Gonzalez, 38, was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday by the same judge.
A federal jury convicted of them in December of RICO violations, violent crimes in aid of racketeering, conspiring to distribute methamphetamine, illegal possession firearms and other offenses.
