LOS ANGELES (CN) - Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline have reached a custody agreement giving Federline sole legal and physical custody of their two boys.
Sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, will remain with their father, whom they have lived with since the pop star lost custody last October. Spears, 26, is allowed two weekly visits and one overnight stay under the agreement.
Spears was unable to see her sons for two months earlier this year after she was hospitalized for mental problems in January.
The settlement states that Spears will pay $20,000 a month in child support, up from $15,000 previously.
The two were married in 2004 and finalized their divorce last July.
The settlement will allow Spears and Federline to avoid a court trial scheduled for next month, Federline's attorney said.
Neither Spears nor Federline appeared at the announcement in Los Angeles Superior Court last Friday.
