Bribes for bogus visa recs

BOSTON — The First Circuit upheld a man’s convictions for writing bogus recommendation letters for Afghan visa applicants in return for payment. There was sufficient evidence that the letters contained false statements, and a money-laundering count for submitting fake invoices was not duplicative of the underlying bribery count.
