Boxer Fernando Vargas Says Boyhood Friend|Worked With Accountants to Swipe $400,000

VENTURA, Calif. (CN) - Boxer Fernando Vargas claims a childhood friend he hired as a financial adviser worked with accountants to steal $400,000 from him. Vargas, who has just a high school education, sued Joseph Pecora, CBIZ Accounting, Tax & Advisory Services, and others in Ventura Superior Court.

Vargas demands damages for fraud, concealment, misappropriation of identity, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, professional negligence and other charges.

Here are the defendants: Joseph Pecora, Christina Pecora, Mayer Hoffman McCann PC Inc., Martin Marietta, CBIZ Southern California LLC also dba CBIZ Accounting, Tax & Advisory Services LLC, CBIZ MHM LLC, CBIZ Inc. also dba CBIZ, and CBIZ Financial Solutions Inc.

Vargas is represented by Michael Kline with Wasserman, Comden & Casselman of Tarzana.
