Boss of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio (CN) - A nursing home employee claims her boss held her by force in his office, where he sexually groped her, tried to take off her pants, "attempted to rape her, and then sexually assaulted and battered her by masturbating on her." She says Steven Meredith, the diet director at Genesis Extended Care & Rehab Center, let her go "only after Meredith had masturbated on her, laughed at her, and told her to go to the bathroom to clean up."

The woman, a dietary aide, seeks damages for assault and battery, false imprisonment, discrimination, negligence and other charges.

She adds that "Being subjected to Meredith's sexual comments and advances were a condition of plaintiff's employment, and plaintiff's co-workers who willingly submitted to Meredith's sexual comments and advances were provided with substantial job benefits, such as requested shifts and additional work hours."

She sued Meredith, Careserve dba Genesis Extended Care & Rehab Center, and the corporate parent, Genesis Healthcare System, in Federal Court.

The nursing home is in Zanesville.

The plaintiff is represented by Alexander Spater.
