NEWARK (CN) - The New Jersey Transit Corp.'s Assistant Executive Director of Procurement Vincent Soleo put a noose around a black woman's neck, "tightened it into a noose, pushed himself against her from behind and said aloud, 'This is how we do it!'" the worker claims in Essex County Court. She says the Transit Corp. did nothing about this racial and sexual harassment despite previous complaints against Soleo.
"This incident was witnessed by several co-workers who were dumbfounded at the conduct they just witnessed by Mr. Soleo," the complaint states.
The plaintiff, a junior document specialist, says she submitted a formal complaint, with names of witnesses, but the agency "did not take any remedial or disciplinary measures against Mr. Soleo.
She demands punitive damages. She is represented by David Zatuchni of Princeton.
