Bond Revoked in Trayvon Martin Shooting Case

SANFORD, Fla. (CN) - A Florida judge has revoked the bond of the neighborhood watch volunteer accused of shooting and killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

George Zimmerman was charged with second degree murder and released from jail on a $150,000 bond in April.

At a hearing today, Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester said Zimmerman was not truthful about the amount of money available to him when his bond was set.

Prosecutors claimed Zimmerman had at least $135,000 that was raised on his website, and that he failed to surrender a second passport.

Mark O'Mara, Zimmerman's attorney, said it was a misunderstanding and Zimmerman was not clear on how he could use the money.

Zimmerman pleaded not guilty to the second-degree murder charge and is claiming self-defense. He is ordered to return to jail within 48 hours.
