Bonaventure Hotel Says Phil Spector Owes $110,000 For His Legal Team’s Lengthy Stay

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Phil Spector owes The Westin Bonaventure Hotel $110,000 in bills for his criminal defense team, the hotel claims in Superior Court.

The hotel claims Spector agreed to pay through credit cards every two weeks, beginning Feb. 1, 2007, for rooms for his legal team.

Spector's much-delayed trial on a charge of second-degree murder began in March 2007 and ended in a mistrial in September. The jury reportedly deadlocked 10-2, toward conviction. Spector was accused of shooting actress Lana Clarkson.

The hotel claims that by June 15, 2007, he owed more than $20,000, and by the time Spector's crew cleared out, he owed more than $104,000. With interest, that comes to more than $110,000 now, the hotel says. It is represented by Shari Rosenthal with Manning & Marder.
