Blocked your constituent? That’ll cost you

ATLANTA — A federal judge court in Georgia awarded $8,000 in damages and $37,000 in court costs and attorney fees to a resident who was blocked from the Facebook pages of ex-state representative Vernon Jones following a “sharp exchange of political speech.” Blocking the constituent curtailed his First Amendment rights because the Facebook pages were the best vehicle for communicating with his representative during the pandemic.
