Blagojevich Loses his Law License

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CN) - Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich has lost his law license. The Illinois Supreme Court issued a two-sentence statement Wednesday, stating that Blagojevich is "suspended from the practice of law effective immediately and until further order of Court."

Blagojevich has not practiced law in decades. The suspension stems from his federal criminal conviction.

Blagojevich is awaiting sentencing after being convicted of attempting to sell the U.S. Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama, and other crimes while he was governor. Blagojevich was impeached after being indicted.
