DETROIT (CN) - Five women say the Commission for the Blind fired them to retaliate for complaining about a supervisor who sexually groped four of them, exposed himself, repeatedly demanded oral sex, and forced them "to stand in a crowded area of the Post Office and flap their arms like chickens, or punch out and leave."
The women are vendors who worked in a downtown Post Office.
The Commission for the Blind is a Michigan state agency. The women also sued Thomas Kent, the supervisor they say abused them, and BW Express Vending.
"Ultimately, all plaintiffs were fired from the operation, because and after they complained to the Civil Rights Department," the complaint states. "The Commission finally removed Kent from the vending operation, but after the last plaintiff was already fired. This was after Kent was arrested and convicted of criminal sexual conduct involving a young girl who was his relative. Kent is now in prison."
The plaintiffs are represented in Wayne County Court by Richard Mack Jr., with Miller Cohen.
