Bizarre Protest at Courthouse

CLAYTON, Mo. (CN) - A man who said he was protesting something cut his wrists and wrote an "X" in blood on the St. Louis County Courthouse on Monday. Police said the man, in his 50s, said he was upset but did not seem to be making a political statement or to have a problem with a specific court case.

The man also printed "Stevenson" on a nearby sidewalk. Police said they didn't know what the message meant or whether it was the man's name. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment.

No one else was hurt or injured. Police said they do not expect that the man will be charged with a crime.
