Bird Lover Fights Verizon Cell Phone Towers

HARTFORD (CN) - A woman says The Connecticut Siting Council illegally approved Verizon Wireless' plan to build cell phone towers in Falls Village, too close to sites used by bald eagles and golden eagles. Dina Jaeger, a mother of two and a recreational birdwatcher, said the towers near her home are in the migration path of more than 200 protected species of birds.

She says the defendants violated the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, the International Migratory Bird Act, and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.

She is represented in Federal Court by Gabriel North Seymour.
