Biological father loses paternity pleading

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Supreme Court vacated a lower court’s paternity order that had established a mother’s former lover as the father of their children, and ordered joint legal and physical custody to be shared between him, her and her husband, following genetic testing that established the former lover as 99.9% likely to be the kids’ biological father. The former lover never had standing to seek establishment of paternity, however, because the children were born in wedlock — just not a marriage involving him.
