NEW ORLEANS (CN) - Seventy-two people died because of toxic, carcinogenic and radioactive dust stirred up by oil-cleaning operations, their survivors say in a federal claim against ExxonMobil, other oil companies and pipe-cleaning contractors.
Here are the defendants: Exxon Mobil Corp., Exxon Mobil Oil Corp., Chevron USA, ConocoPhillips Co., Shell Offshore, Shell Oil Co., American Oil Co., BP Exploration & Production, Union Oil Co. of California, Maxus Bulgaria, Placid Oil Co., Swepi LP, Humble, Occidental Chemical Corp., Alpha Technical Services, Thomas Energy Services, French Jordan Inc., OFS Inc., and Intracoastal Tubular Services.
Plaintiffs are represented by Jeremiah Sprague with the Falcon Law Firm of Marrero, La.
