Big Jump in Producer Prices in European Union

The producer price index in the European Union continued its upward curve with the June figures showing a full 10% increase over the same month last year, according to figures released Monday. Leading in this unfortunate statistic is Denmark with a remarkable 21% hike in producer prices followed by the United Kingdom with a 19.5% gain. The biggest factor in the jump was to be expected: energy prices increased 27% over the same month a year ago.
