MANHATTAN (CN) - A federal class action claims BET Networks and Viacom have been violating copyright on music recorded before Feb. 15, 1972. Lead plaintiff The Music Force claims BET has been "synchronizing, distributing, (and) reproducing" the copyrighted works on multiple cable shows, including "BET Impression," "Jazz Visions," "Jazz Moods," "Lifted," and "Jazz Channel-Mike's Word."
Plaintiffs demand damages and an injunction. Lead counsel is Christopher Lovell with Lovell Stewart Halebian.
