MANHATTAN - Former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik has been indicted on 16 counts of corruption, including mail fraud, wire fraud, conspiracy, obstructing an FBI investigation, theft of honest services, tax fraud and lying to the federal government. Kerik was business partners with former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is seeking the Republican nomination for president, and was nominated by President Bush as secretary of Homeland Security in 2004, a move that quickly jumped the rails.
