WASHINGTON (CN) - Beltway sniper John Allen Muhammad, who killed 10 people in 2002 with a teen-age accomplice, was executed by lethal injection Tuesday night.
Muhammad, 48, was convicted of killing Dean Harold Meyers at a gas station outside Manassas, Va., on Oct. 9. 2002. His accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, was convicted of another murder and is serving a life term without parole.
The serial murders terrorized the Capital area, where victims were shot apparently at random on the streets. Muhammad had modified a van, from which he and/or Malvo shot their victims.
