Baptist Clerk Sues Scientologist Dentist

ANNISTON, ALA. (CN) - A billing clerk claims her boss, a dentist, fired her after hearing the clerk question Scientology on a radio talk show.

The plaintiff claims the dentist ordered her to read a book on Scientology even before reading the office manual, and assigned her a "Scientology Advisor."

The clerk, a Baptist, says she called the "Rick and Bubba" radio talk show on the way to work one day to ask about Scientology.

She says when she got to work that day, Rick and Bubba were playing on the office radio, whereupon she was fired.

She demands damages for outrage, privacy invasion, religious discrimination, retaliation and negligence. She is represented in Federal Court by Cynthia Forman Wilkinson of Birmingham.
