Patriot Coal Corp. and affiliates filed for bankruptcy in Manhattan, listing more than $1 billion in assets and liabilities. And Ocala Funding LLC filed for bankruptcy in Jacksonville, Fla., listing more than $1 billion in assets and liabilities; it wants to sue Freddie Mac for $800 million it claims was fraudulently transferred by its former corporate parent, Taylor Bean & Whitaker Mortgage Corp.
