CLAYTON (CN) - NFL Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk and hip-hop star Nelly are among a star-studded group named in a collection action in St. Louis County Court.
Truman Bank claims Third Street Investors owes it $2.045 million on a promissory note.
The bank claims that a group including Faulk, Cornell Haynes II aka hip-hop star Nelly, former NBA lottery pick Darius Miles, prominent defense attorney N. Scott Rosenblum and Carrie Dunne guaranteed the loan. The five are named as defendants along with Third Street Investors.
Truman Bank seeks the appointment of Atec Liquidations as receiver for Third Street Investors.
Truman Bank is represented by Cherie Macdonald of Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale in Swansea, Ill.
Faulk was part of the St. Louis Rams' 1999 Super Bowl championship team. He is the only player in NFL history to amass 12,000 yards rushing and 6,000 yards receiving and he was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2011.
Haynes's debut album, "Country Grammar," hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts in 2000 and sold 8.4 million copies. He won Grammy awards in 2003 and 2004 and had a supporting role in the 2005 remake of "The Longest Yard."
Miles was drafted No. 3 overall directly out of East St. Louis High School in 2000. He had a supporting role in the 2002 movie "National Lampoon's Van Wilder."
